Studies Georgia O’Keeffe

 Georgia O'Keeffe was most well known for her paintings of flowers close up.  Our 1st Grade artists  looked at her "Red Poppies" to create their own art inspired by the artists' work.

Students used liquid tempera paint to create the rich colors of their flowers.

Once the paint was dry our Farmingville artists created backgrounds and the center of the flower with construction paper and tempera paint sticks. They then collaged all the elements together.
