“City-Scapes”
To create the City-Scapes you see here, 2nd grade
students learned about warm and cool
color combinations and the element of VALUE.
Farmingville artists chose a cool color and then used watercolor paints to create a background that demonstrated their understanding of creating different values with paint.
Here are some finished pieces...the photos do not do them justice!
To create their city, students utilized a monoprint method…painting each building one at a time and then folding their paper to print the reflection of their building on the bottom half of the paper. Students then added oil pastels to create emphasis and added interest to their artwork.
