3rd Grade Students Exhibit at Ridgefield Recreation Center!

ARCHforKids, Kids for Community
Students at Farmingville Elementary School (FES) and Branchville Elementary School (BES) had a series of workshops with ARCHforKids, a STEAM-based group of educators who focus on architecture, art, design and community.  The creation of this work took place over a 3 session residency. Working under the theme "Healthy Living & Recreational Buildings", 3rd grade students acted as architects and engineers in training and were challenged to construct a model of an ideal community/recreation facility.

On November 17th Ridgefield Recreation Center hosted a one night exhibition of the models.  Photos of the work will be on display through December 19th.

The photos below highlight the students’ work as well as their creative process.

This program was possible through a grant provided by the Ridgefield Education Foundation, a non-profit organization which funds initiatives that enhance the educational experience of Ridgefield learners of all ages.
