“HANDS”
Farmingville’s
4th Grade Art Student’s learned about the Op art movement and also looked at art work created by Op artist’s
Victor Vasarely and Bridget Riley. Op art, also known as optical art, is a style of visual art that uses optical illusions.
To
create these Op art hands students utilized the element line, beginning at the edge of their paper with a straight line and
then “bumping up” when the marker went over their hand. Students chose complimentary color combinations to
create a pattern of color with their lines to add to the effect.
