5th Grade
In 1949 Pablo Picasso
made the cover of LIFE magazine with his light
drawings taken by LIFE photographer Gjon Mili. As an interdisciplinary connection to their science unit on Light and Energy, 5th Grade Art students experimented with light and photography. Long shutter
speeds were used to capture students “light
drawings”. In some cases students used fellow classmates as models as well as multiple light sources.
