“Community” Murals

These are just a few snapshots of the collage murals created by our 2016-2017 K-5 community in June 2017. These amazing works of art welcomed our students back for our 2017-18 school year!

 Painted paper that our Farmingville art students painted were used to create a variety of subject matter in our “Community” murals. Students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth Grade created piles of houses, community buildings, cars, alternative dwellings, flowers, trees, bugs and clouds.

 

We used recycled bulletin board paper for our backgrounds and students worked collaboratively to compose the components together to create large an imaginary “community” mural...although you may see some familiar places.
